📐 What AC Capacity (Tonnage) Do I Need?

AC capacity is measured in "Tons" — this has nothing to do with weight, it's a unit of cooling power. A bigger room needs more tonnage. Buying too small means the AC runs constantly and never cools properly; buying too big wastes electricity and money.

⭐ Star Rating — What Does It Actually Save You?

The BEE star rating (1 to 5 stars) tells you how efficiently the AC converts electricity into cooling. More stars means a higher ISEER value, which means a lower electricity bill for the same cooling.

  • 5 Star: Highest efficiency, higher upfront price, lowest running cost — pays for itself over 2–3 years of use.
  • 3 Star: Balanced choice — lower upfront cost, moderate electricity bill.
  • Rule of thumb: if you run the AC more than 6–8 hours a day, a 5-star model saves more than it costs extra.

✅ Inverter AC Compressor adjusts speed instead of switching on/off — quieter, more efficient, better temperature control. Costs more upfront but uses 30–50% less electricity over a season.
Fixed Speed AC Compressor runs at full power or switches off. Cheaper to buy, but uses more electricity over time and gives less stable cooling.
